About the event
The Good Foot Arts Collective organization desires to create safe spaces for creative expression and community. Join them for a time of celebrating youth and Hip Hop Street Dance and Youth culture. We stand against violence in our youth and communities and what better way to support the new school year than with a time to provide safety resources from community partners and share positive ways to advocate for violence prevention. Saturday, September 27th General Schedule:
Youth Collective Showcase and DJ Ohmega Watts
Presentations, Youth Dance Competition and Performances by The Good Foot's Youth Collective internship program
Time: 12:00PM-3:30PM. MACY's Concourse
Youth Open Style Hip Hop Street Dance Competition 1vs1 (Ages 13 and Under)
Professional Dance Judges from France - New York - LA will be in attendance.
Dance competition for all styles of dance with a $500 first place prize and $100 second place prize. Participants must be 13 years old or younger and parent/guardian must fill out a waiver form day of. Register and check in at the registration table, dancers must be physically present to participate. 30 dancer limit only, first come first serve.
Time: 12:00PM-3:30PM (contest starts @1:00PM)
Location: MACY's Concourse.
"SIP THE JUICE" Discussion Panel on Violence Prevention
Discussion panel with international Professional Hip Hop Dance legends from around the world that have come to share their experiences and perspectives
Time: 5:00PM-6:00PM
Location: Sky Terrace
2vs2 Breaking (Breakdance) Competition and 1vs1 Top 8 Open Styles Dance Competition (All Ages and free to attend)
Breaking competition with cash prizes and giveaways for 1st and 2nd place winners. To compete, crews must fill out a waiver form the day of. Register and check in at the registration table, both dance team members must be physically present to participate. 30 crew limit, first come first serve, must have two people in the crew to enter.
Time: 6:00PM-9:00PM (battle starts @7:00PM)
